I was running through resumes today that candidates had emailed us and I couldn’t help but ask myself why people don’t fully proofread their resumes. There were several resumes that I opened that were clearly using resume templates, which is fine, I suggest using one actually, but remember to delete any unnecessary information from the template.

This was at the bottom of a resume I looked at today. I’ve seen this exact template before, and I’ve seen countless candidates neglect to fill in the information and still leave the graphics. If you’re going to use a resume template fill out every piece of information or delete the prompts. If you don’t, it makes it look like you didn’t look at your resume before submitting it. It’s in the same category as grammatical errors in a lot of recruiters brains, it’s careless.
