Provides patient care as directed; administers medication and monitors patient medication compliance; performs treatments, performs or assist with nurse sick call, assist with doctor's sick call; performs or assist with nursing management of chronic care clinics; responds to emergencies, providing emergency care and cardiopulmonary resuscitation; performs subjective and objective assessment of patients; collects vital signs and timely documents all findings; collects urine and or other bodily fluid specimens; prepares patients for release or transfer to other facilities by reviewing patient care, transfer summaries or release summaries, ensures discharge medication orders are completed and timely forwarded to pharmacy services; participates in work related training and institution training exercises. Provides assistance to other healthcare staff; investigates and documents problem areas or areas of concern; reviews shift report from preceding shift(s); assist physicians with medical procedures; assumes duties of other nurses during absences; council's or provides education to patients regarding healthcare maintenance and prevention of disease, participates in quality assurance activities provides training and work direction to licensed practical nurses; serves as a resource person for other healthcare personnel at the direction of the Nursing Supervisor. serves as the lead clinical authority on site in the absence of the HCA, QIC, medical director and or advanced level provider; participates in group programming and health and wellness activities. Performs administrative duties as indicted, attends meetings, assumes duties of shift change as assigned by the HCA, making shift work assignments and adjustments as necessary; performs or assist with inventory and ordering of medical supplies; assist ancillary staff as needed to ensure patient care needs are met; must conduct themselves professionally and in a law abiding manner at all times and in accordance with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections Standards of Employee Conduct, performs other duties as assigned.
