The technician also monitors patient vital signs and conditions, responds to alarms, and handles dialysis-related emergencies such as hypotensive episodes or needle displacement. They ensure proper machine functioning, sanitize equipment, and prepare fluid samples for testing. Additionally, the technician communicates patient concerns to the RN, reinforces care instructions, and assists with nursing treatments. The role also involves maintaining patient supplies, reviewing lab work, completing flow sheets for billing, and complying with regulatory standards like HIPAA and OSHA.
